Kiyoshi Teppei x Reader (RQ)

Your back hit the wall behind the gym and you slid down to the ground, crouching. You remember the sight of Kiyoshi and the team coach, Riko Aida talking and laughing together with his arm over her shoulder. You had a feeling she was his ex-girlfriend but you couldn't bear to ask him. They were close and you knew that for a while ever since you found out she was the basket ball coach but their relationship wasn't just that. You knew that what they had was something more. <Was I just a rebound?> the thoughts circled around in your mind before nostalgia had hit you, making you reminiscence about how you first met...

It was 7 in the morning when you had arrived at Seirin High. The sun sho down brightly revealing the dew drops that still lingered on the grass and leaves of the trees all around school making them sparkle like glitter. This was the view you came to see every morning an hour before class started. You stretched your arms out, inhaling the crisp air around you. "It's refreshing isn't it?" A deep voice startled you making you jump. You turned around to see a tall boy. His messy hair shone just like the leaves on the trees that surrounded the both of you. A trickle of sweat was trailing down the side of his face towards his smiling lips. You realized that you were staring at him and you subconsciously took a step backwards. "I-I'm sorry!" a faint blush now appearing on your cheeks as the giant's smile disappeared from his face being replaced by a look of curiosity. As if realizing something, he let out a laugh. "What's your name?" He asked. "(Last/First Name)… 2nd year." your voice cracked. "I'll see you around.. (fn)." He waved before turning around and heading towards the gym.  

"Hey! (ln)! Someone is here to see you!" You looked up from the book you were reading and looked towards your classmate who was motioning towards the door. Closing your book, you stood up from your desk and headed over. Walking out of the door, you saw him. "Good afternoon, (fn)." He greeted you, his hand sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh! Good afternoon!" You greeted him back, wondering how he found out where your classroom was when you didn't even know his name. "A-ano.. I don't really know your name yet.. I'm sorry." You gave him an apologetic smile. "Oh how rude of me! Sorry, my name is Kiyoshi Teppei. 3rd year." He let out a small laugh. "Nice to meet you, Kiyoshi-senpai." You smiled at him, missing the reaction on his face when he saw you smile. "Want to go have lunch together?" his sudden proposal took you by surprise and all you did was nod.
The cafeteria was abuzz with students chattering. You sat there on the seat waiting for Kiyoshi to come back with food. "Finally! Sorry I took so long." He handed you a sandwich a small white bag and a bottle of green tea. "What's this?" you asked picking up the bag. "Oh it's just a taiyaki. I thought you might want something sweet." he smiled at you. How did he know... ドキドキ you felt your hear began pounding against your chest. You look at Kiyoshi who is now happily eating his sandwich. Unbeknownst to you the feelings that were beginning to develop inside of you. After eating, he walked you back to your classroom and waved good bye.  

Upon walking in your classroom you couldn't help but notice the whispering between your classmates. "Nee, (ln) are you going out with Kiyoshi-senpai?" one of the girls asked. "Huh? No..." You gave them a smile. "Oh good! Cause I heard he's kind of weird," she motioned you to come sit with her and the other girls. "I heard he's a delinquent and that's why he missed school so much last year." another girl added "Oh and didn't he just break up with that one girl from his class too?" said another. "R-Really?" you asked, curious to know just about anything about him. "Well I heard that his parents passed away and that he lives with his grandparents." Says a boy who now joined into the conversation. "Oh it's no wonder he became a Yankee. He doesn't have any parents to guide him to the right path." You look around you feeling as though none of it were true. Shrugging, you went back to your seat with just 2 of the comments bothering you. He had recently broken up with an ex and that his parents passed away. You sighed, leaning your head on one of your hands as you looked out the window wondering if any of the things that were said had any truth to it.

A week had passed by since you and Kiyoshi had began eating lunch together, when one day he had finally asked you to hang outside of school. "Why did you want to meet here?" You asked Kiyoshi. "Well... it's so we can do this." he hands you a basketball. "You want <me> to play? Aren't you like... the captain of the team? It's a little unfair don't you think?" You laughed. "Nah, I founded the team but I'm definitely not the captain." He winked at you, making you blush. After a few rounds of shooting hoops, you were out of breath. "Want me to go get you some water?" Kiyoshi asked, watching you fan yourself with your hand. "Please." You gave him a smile. When he got back he handed you a bottle of cold water. "Thanks" you took a gulp. "Want some?" He offered half of his twin popsicle to you. You took it and smiled at him as if to say thank you. "So... I was wondering." Kiyoshi began. "Wondering what?" You gave him an inquisitive look. "I was wondering if you had a boyfriend... Because I'd love to ask you out."He turned his face away, but you can see a small trace of blush on his face. "N-No... I don't have a boyfriend." ドキドキ... there it was again. "Well then... do you want to go out with me?" This time he looked at you straight in the eyes. A small trickle of sweat dripping down his neck. "Y-Yes." you gave a small nod, making Kiyoshi smile from ear to ear. "All right." He pulled you close to him and gave you a hug. "Call me Teppei from now on... okay?"

You walked out of your house to find Teppei waiting for you. "Good morning! Ready for exams?" He greeted. "Yeah, are you?" You took his large hands into yours and intertwined your fingers together. "As ready as I'll ever be." You walked to school together and went your separate ways to get to your classrooms. The testing was long but you survived it. When school got out Teppei wasn't by your locker where he usualy waits for you so you can walk home together. Curious, you headed to the gym to see if he was there. Upon arriving you see the basketball team practicing. You slipped through the doors and sat on the bench to watch them scrimmage. Teppei was talking to a girl with short hair. She must be a third year because I've never seen her before you thought to yourself. She had a whistle at the end of her lanyard and a clipboard on her hand. After talking, Teppei joined in the scrimmage. After practice was over, you headed outside the gym and waited for him to come out. "Hey! Did you wait for me to finish practice?" He asked and you nodded "You were really cool in there!" You smiled at him. "I-I wasn't all that cool..." He blushed trying to be humble. "Come on, let's go home."

"(Fn)..?" you looked up seeing Teppei towering over you. "What's wrong? What happened?" his face was stricken with worry. "Y-Yeah I'm fine." Teppei held his hand out to you and helped you back up to your feet. "Come on, let's go home." He held your hand in his and tried to intertwine his fingers into yours but you pulled your hand away. "Tell me if I did something." He didn't look at you but he stayed beside you. "Was Riko-chan your ex girlfriend?" You asked, voice trembling. "Yeah. But before your imagination goes wild, nothing is going on between us." He turned to you and caressed your face, his expression becoming softer.  

"But... I just saw you-" He put a finger over your lips. "We're still friends but that's all it is. I promise." His voice was kind and he pulled you close to him. "Do I have to say it for you? Or would you rather me show you?" You looked up at him wondering what he meant by that. "It's really plain to see..." His voice faded away, replaced by the sound of your heart beating furiously as his face drew closer giving you your first kiss.

"I love you (fn)." You watched his inaudible lips move as your heartbeat echoed throughout your body. Your cheeks grew warm as you replied "I love you too, Teppei."
